The Chambre de commerce de Montréal Centre Sud Ouest (CCCSOM) is proud to welcome the Minister of Employment, Ms. Pascale Déry, for the announcement of nearly $568,000 in funding for the project “Resilience and Competitiveness of Québec Businesses.”
This major collaborative initiative, led by the CCCSOM, aims to consolidate employment and increase business competitiveness through an integrated approach that supports the strategic adaptation and growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This project was made possible through financial participation from the Government of Québec.
In collaboration with key stakeholders and experts in the field, the CCCSOM will be able to implement an integrated, practical approach designed to:
- Improve HR management practices and skills among managers,
- Develop managers’ competencies,
- Optimize production capacity through the integration of digital tools that foster the resilience of Québec businesses, particularly SMEs.
On the ground, the project will roll out in three components. The first is a rigorous data collection effort targeting SMEs located primarily within the CCCSOM’s territory, in order to identify their needs. The analysis report from this survey, which will be circulated across the entire Montréal metropolitan area, will guide the second component: manager training. This training will be provided by Cégep André-Laurendeau (André-Laurendeau CEGEP), a strategic partner in the project, which will develop and offer tailored training programs based on the needs identified during the analysis phase. The final component is giving businesses access to production capabilities located across the territory through enhancements to an integrated digital access platform, developed in collaboration with the Centre de valorisation des données manufacturières (CVDM) (Centre for the Valorization of Manufacturing Data).
At the same time, the project includes individualized support adapted to the realities of participating managers. This important component will be delivered in close collaboration with the Ministère de l’Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale (Ministry of Employment and Social Solidarity) to ensure effective matching between businesses and participating managers, as well as specialized advisors and available support programs.
Ultimately, the project “Resilience and Competitiveness of Québec Businesses” will help strengthen companies’ capacity to adapt, support employment, and position Québec as a resilient and innovative economic hub.
