Back to business season has a particular kind of energy, calendars filling up, projects picking back up, and a bit of fresh momentum after the summer. For Quebec and Canadian manufacturers, the 2026 season carries a colour all its own, resilience.
Since spring, the sector has been navigating a more turbulent trade environment than usual, with tariffs imposed by the U.S. administration continuing to weigh on several supply chains. We can't pretend that isn't there. But what we also see, week after week, are companies adapting, diversifying their markets and partners, and continuing to move forward. That ability to bounce back and innovate deserves to be celebrated, perhaps more than ever this year.
Several manufacturing associations that partner with our ecosystem, including Alliance Métal Québec, Créneau Machines and RTMQ (Réseau de la transformation métallique du Québec), keep up their work connecting, training and representing their members. That often quiet groundwork makes a real difference for SMEs day to day.
Quebec's provincial election is approaching, on October 5, and many manufacturing companies are spending part of September going through party platforms in relation to the impacts of the trade war.
Speaking of which, if August was the month of new markets and new partners, September keeps that momentum going within our own ecosystem. We're proud to welcome three new association members, Chaudière-Appalaches Économique, the Chambre de commerce de Montréal Centre Sud Ouest (CCCSOM) and Corporate Connections. Every new association that joins CVDM grows the ecosystem, and everyone benefits from that.
A quick reminder too, our semantic search remains free and open to all member companies until October 31, a great way to see what it can do for your visibility while it's still open to everyone.
And since we like to deliver on what we announce, stay tuned, more news and partnership announcements are on their way in the coming weeks.
That said, we want September to be mostly about the good news. Companies innovating despite the uncertainty, teams holding steady, collaborations paying off, all of it deserves to be told. If your company has a win to share, or you know a good story in the ecosystem, we want to hear about it.
Here's to a great September.
